Designed to provide maximum choice of options and to meet the requirements of all customers operating within this drill size, whether from an economic cost point of view, operation or straight performance. The Midi Mac range options start from the basic format choice of either the highly popular Trailer form or a Self Contained Crawler Drill format.
With a choice of single speed or two speed rotate and a choice of two Torque ratings, coupled with its powerful balanced thrust and pullback, the Midi Mac range is capable of jobs up to 300mm in diameter and shots of up to 100 metres in length.
With a body, constructed from 5mm Steel Plate with welded in cross bracing and down tubes, the Midi Mac chassis like its junior, the Mini Mac, is extremely strong and torsionally stiff. All fittings, parts, motors, valves and hoses used are of the highest quality and make for a machine which is built to last, highly rugged and provides for minimal maintenance.
The Midi Mac body at 3m long and 400mm wide houses the unique double acting hydraulic ram, which delivers equal levels of thrust and pullback, directly driving the Carriage and delivering 2055mm of working stroke with 255m of working clearance for rod connections
Front and Rear Stakedown Feet on all model Midi Macs are fully adjustable for launch angle with hydraulic cylinder drive and are extendable for width to provide maximum stability when drilling (except when Mast Auger Stakedown option selected on Front Foot). The actual feet on the Rear Foot are reversible to cater for soft ground conditions and provide a stake foot.
A large hinged and earthed operator working platform is provided on the Trailer Drills and this coupled with the Electric Strike Warning (Zap Alert), which is also fitted on all self contained models, ensures safe operation.
Midi Mac Trailer machines can be powered either from their own stand alone hydraulic power pack or where a suitable auxiliary power source is available such as an on site excavator, this may be used, provided that the specified pressure and flow rates are available to ensure optimal machine operation. Self Contained machines of course have their own power on board and all engines are (subject to availability) Yanmar Diesel Engined.
Fluid supply to the drill rod stream is provided from a stand alone Fluid System which is connected through the Control Panel.
Directional tracking and control of Midi Mac Drill Rigs can be achieved using any suitable proprietary equipment and a range of Sonde Housings or Drill Heads are available along with a full range of tooling.
All machines are delivered with 100 metres of forged drill rods with Trapezoidal Taper Threads ensuring maximum torque transmission with quick makeup. Two diameters are used dependent on torque option specified, being either 40mm x 20mm or 50mm x 32mm sections.
